The 175F-2 Manfrotto Cold Shoe Spring Clamp is a versatile lightweight clamp that enables the user to safely and securely position key accessories in off camera locations that would not always be possible using a traditional support solution such as a lighting stand. The clamp features a number of useful fixing points allowing the user to attach essential lightweight accessories such as a Speedlite flashgun, a small LED panel or an audio mic.
Weighing in at only 350g the clamp incorporates an extremely strong spring mechanism which ensures a tight grip on a range of different surfaces or objects, boasting a payload of up to 2kg. The clamps jaws extend to accommodate a maximum diameter of 40mm allowing it to easily attach to a pole, a shelf, the back of a chair or even the branch of tree to name just a few of the many possibilities. The inside of the spring clamps jaws feature a number of durable hard rubber studs which provide further grip, particularly useful on irregular shaped surfaces.
Fixed to the clamp is a reliable, multi position Manfrotto centre ball head with full pan and tilt movement. Once the clamp is attached to the chosen surface, a single locking knob on the ball head then allows the user to precisely position the accessory at the correct angle and with a simple twist lock it firmly in position. On top of the ball head is Manfrotto’s highly acclaimed shoe mount mechanism. This unique mount allows the user to easily and securely, fasten their chosen accessory to the ball head. Simply unscrew the ring to open the shoe, slide in the accessory, then tighten the ring to lock it firmly to the ball head.
In addition to the ball head, the clamp also features a 5/8” (16mm) socket and a 5/8” (16mm) spigot with 3/8” female thread providing the option to attach an additional accessory or for the clamp to be attached to a light stand or support arm. This extremely versatile clamp is sure to capture the imagination of today’s creative imagemakers. Its compact form factor, super-fast set up time and clever design makes it easier than ever to place essential accessories in a range of off camera locations whether it be up high, at ground level, hidden out of sight or in confined spaces, opening up a whole host of creative opportunities.
