Product Description
- XF14mmF2.8 R has both focusing distances and a depth-of-field scale etched on to the lens barrel. This will help you to choose a focusing point and aperture setting that maximises the area of sharp focus in an image. The scales are also useful for pre-focusing at a certain distance when capturing street images, for example.
- XF14mmF2.8 R may be compact and lightweight, but that does not compromise the build quality. The lens barrel is all metal, while the aperture ring is click-stopped in one-third stop steps for precise control. Likewise, the focusing ring is smoothly damped to ensure pinpoint manual focusing should customers need it.
- XF14mmF2.8 R can focus as close as 7in (18cm) from the subject. Combine this capability with the F2.8 maximum aperture and it is easy to make subjects stand out from their background.
- Ultra-wide angle lenses of this type typically have large front elements that, in turn, necessitate large filter threads. Not so for XF14mmF2.8 R, which features a much more manageable 58mm filter thread.
