The internal zoom mechanism increases zooming stability and dust- and drip-resistant performance. Ideal for use with gimbals and matte boxes, with no change to center of gravity when zoom position is changed.

Smooth Focus Transitions.
Focus breathing has been suppressed to less than half the amount of the previous generation 24-70mm f/2.8 S, plus jitter-free subject tracking during push-ins.

Control ring click on/off switch lets you choose between precise, incremental click adjustments**or smooth, seamless changes.
Close focus/High magnification.
Focus as close as 9.5 inches at 24mm, with a maximum magnification of 0.32xat 70mm.
Beautiful bokeh.
The combination of a constant f/2.8 aperture and 11 rounded diaphragm blades produces soft,round bokeh with natural gradation.
